Swimming Lessons

Gan Israel Day Camp is proud to partner with Saf-T-Swim in Melville to offer expert swimming lessons to all our campers.

Led by certified Saf-T-Swim instructors, our program emphasizes safety, skill-building, and steady progress, helping every child develop confidence in the water while having a fun and rewarding experience. These lessons provide the foundation for lifelong swimming skills in a supportive, engaging environment.

Horseback Riding Lessons

Campers at Gan Israel Day Camp have the exciting opportunity to choose high-quality horseback riding lessons as an elective. Lessons are led by professional instructors from DDR Farms in Melville, ensuring expert guidance and top-notch training.

In addition to skill-building lessons, campers can enjoy thrilling adventure trail rides, all set within the peaceful beauty of our scenic outdoor environment. It’s a unique way for children to connect with nature, build confidence, and experience the joy of horseback riding!

Exciting weekly feild trips

Each week, our campers enjoy unforgettable adventures at some of Long Island’s favorite destinations! Every trip combines fun, friendship, and hands-on experiences that make camp memories last a lifetime.

Campers experience adventure, learning, and fun as they explore destinations such as:
Adventureland, Urban Air Adventure Park, The Gravity Vault, Skyzone, Go-Karting, Laser Bounce, Pump It Up, Long Island Children’s Museum, Active Kidz, Laser Tag, Bowling & Arcades, White Post Farms, and more!

Each trip is a safe, supervised, and unforgettable way for children to explore, bond with friends, and create lifelong memories.

Sports & professional coaching

Gan Israel Day Camp is excited to partner with Hoop Dreams NY to provide professional sports instruction for our campers.

Children will have the opportunity to learn new skills, build teamwork, practice good sportsmanship, and enjoy a variety of sports in a fun, supportive environment. Our expert instructors ensure that every camper stays engaged, active, and challenged — all while having an amazing time on the field and court!

Dance Lessons

We are thrilled to welcome local Half Hollow Hills mom Denise Schinazi as our Israeli folk dance instructor at Gan Israel Day Camp!

Campers will have the unique opportunity to learn choreography and dance techniques from Denise, who brings many years of experience teaching both children and adults. She has led workshops and events at SYJCC and Mid-Island JCC, and currently teaches Israeli circle dances at Dix Hills Jewish Center.

This fun and engaging program lets campers explore movement, rhythm, and teamwork while connecting with Israeli culture and tradition — all in a joyful, supportive environment!

Creative Arts and Nature

Camp Gan Israel’s Creative Arts and Nature program allows campers to explore the world around them and to express their creativity in different art forms whether it be painting, dancing or arts and crafts. All activities are taught by specialists in their fields who are experienced working with children.

Our staff members inspire, guide and encourage campers to recognize and develop their creative potential. Many projects are based on the camps weekly themes.

Weekly Friday Challah Baking

Each week at Gan Israel Day Camp, the children enjoy a special hands-on experience as they braid and bake delicious challah and join in a joyful Shabbat party filled with singing, stories, and celebration. This weekly tradition helps campers connect with their rich heritage in a fun, creative, and meaningful way—building memories and values that last long after camp ends.
